New 10.10 installation from CD on Gigabyte-8i865GVMK mobo won't play an audio CD. In fact CD icon disappears when CD loads. Eject CD and icon comes back. But OS recognises the correct hardware. Tried different CD hardware, but not even an icon this time. What do u suggest?
BTW, is Ubuntu PnP or not? Plugged in a PCI wireless card and OS doesn't even know it's there. I'm a complete newby to Ub, but comfortable with hardware and XP
