Hi everybody,

just wondering if it is possible to make the Gnome panel transparent (like in KDE Suse for example)... are the only options available the ones with right clicking on the panel and choosing properties? :-k

right click on panel - properties - background - click solid color and adjust the slider (change color if you wish by clicking on it) edit: did not read to the end, ya try looking at xgl if you have a decent graphics card and processor (sounds like windows), I have a celeron and 64 meg MX4000 but got pretty poor performance with xgl.

That won't make it reasparent any more than setting the gnome terminal to transparent, all it does is to rewrite an area withing an area.

You want to get further, AIGLX or XGL with a ****load of utilities to do whatnot is the enswer.

Let it rest until it's done, you'll only get disappointed... btw.. FC does this by default.. just so you know.
