I did an update today, Wednesday the 12th of January. It asked me to reboot my computer. When I did so, all the graphics were screwed up. The splash scren lingers around, compiz mucks up and leaves duplicate windows. Is there any way to undo this update?

Perhaps a little more information might be helpful. What video card are you using? Are you using "restricted drivers"? Did you install the video driver from a third party source or repository?

It was the tungsten graphics driver for the intel 82865g integrated card. It uses the "bleeding edge" driver, because the more stable drivers had problems with full screen. I did a reinstall recently and now it goes fine. I am using the latest bleeding edge intel 82865g driver on this sytem too, with no problems, so I think it was just a problem with compiz settings manager. (Although I don't know if this was updated)
