View Full Version : [all variants] Coloning from ext3 to ext4 boot drive?

I just bought a new 1 TB SATA drive to replace my two ancient 160GB PATA drives. One of these is the boot drive, and both are formatted as ext3. I formatted and partitioned the new drive as ext4. What I want to do is clone my existing system to the new drive, but the discussions I've seen here so far are frankly a bit confusing, and they don't address differences in file systems.

Is there a technique to do this other than a re-install from scratch?

I'm running 10.04, and there are no other OS's to worry about. My install disk is a USB stick, but of course I can't do anything to the hard drives from that.
