ArtistX (Ubuntu?) Uninstall

I recently installed ArtistX on my old laptop, and would now like to revert back to XP. My CD drive does not work, and so I am using an external usb cd/dvd drive. I am able to boot from the xp cd, but after loading setup, it tells me that i have no partitions. Any suggestions? Thanks.

during the XP setup it will offer you to format the drive.

If this doesnt work/doesnt offer you, it could be that the laptop has a sata drive - normally XP doesnt see this. You'll need to slipstream the sata driver into the XP install.
