Ubuntu Unity Interface

I installed the Ubuntu net-book unity interface on my laptop. This is looking very cool but i dont know how to make changes that is how to include an icon to launcher and the other settings. Waiting for your replies because I am stuck in using unity interface

If it is anything like the Natty Unity interface, start an application. There should be an icon for the running app in the sidebar. Right-click that icon and there should be a "pin to" something or other. Click that and the icon should stay there.

But, I've never used the netbook interface, so i'm not certain it works that way.

but i am asking about the general settings or u know there are advanced settings in each application so I am asking about that thing
