Hello,

Could anyone explain in laymens terms how to setup Lexmark interpret s405 on Ubuntu? I setup Ubuntu for the first time a few days ago, and there does not appear to be a driver for the s405. After searching, I found a similar post asking a similar question about the same printer, but I think the person in that post was more ubuntu savvy than me because I do not understand how to fix the problem. The post is here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1415615

The computer seems to recognise my printer's connection, but it won't print and the s405 is not in the printer list. I am using ubuntu 10.10 If you have time, I would greatly appreciate advice on what driver to download and how to get it to work.

Lexmark has released a Debian driver located on their support site:

http://support.lexmark.com/index?segment=SUPPORT&userlocale=EN_CA&locale=en&productCode=LEXMARK_INTERPRET_S405&page=product&frompage=null#1

If it isn't active, just search from their support page.
