View Full Version : [ubuntu] Failover (non Apache)?

January 10th, 2011, 04:08 AM
Morning all.

I'm currently setting up a private server that needs to be up 24/7, and I'd like it to have failover (already have 2 systems with identical hardware running).

But, I don't need load balancing, Just when node 1 goes down, have node 2 take over automatically.

I know it can be done for the web server using Apache, but what about other services (specifically a ShoutCast transcoder)?

I have a 3rd server available to act as the proxy, if needed, but no idea on how to set them up.

Thanks in advance for all the suggestions!
