Greetings ubunters. I'm just asking if it is posible to display shadows behind the text in the desktop. This improves the appearance of text over light wallpapers and gives a nice look&feel :D

The goal is to make it look more or less like this:

Don't you think it gives a really nice look to the text?

Actually, the current text in gnome's desktop looks like this:

Could be better don't you think?

Also, I want to know what the ubuntu community thinks about this.

System > Preferences > Appearance > Fonts there are some font and rendering options there.

Really, nobody? I thought that gnome was 100% customizable and all that, but, nothing? Not even some way to relatedly get the effect I want? Unbelievable.

No, GNOME is not 100% customizable. I'm pretty sure this is not currently possible.

However, it is probably possible in another desktop environment.

I thought it was, I'm gonna try with gtk engines.
