Workstation installation

There used to be a version/option to install Ubuntu to a workstation but not have it configured for a particular user, so that it could be configured at a later time when the user, etc. of the machine became known.

Sort of like a redistributable version of Ubuntu.

Is there still such a version of the Ubuntu installation and if so, where do I find it ?
