Hello, I am new to ubuntu and I have recently installed Googles Sketschup 8 with Wine, but when I try to start Sketschup 8 i get the message

"Sketchup was unable to initialize OpenGL!
Please make sure you have installed the correct drivers for your graphics card.

Error: ChoosePixelFormat failed"

So my question is, how do I get the right graphic card drivers to solve this problem? I am new to Ubuntu and donīt even know how to check whats grapfic card i have. I have an old Dell Latitude D610.

you might use the latest 1.3.11 for better result

https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ppa

I tried to install the version you said but it still wont work. I get the same message and now when I start the "playOnLinux" it tells me:

"You dont seem to have support for 3D accelerating! We advice you to install it and activate it"

but how do i do it in Ubuntu?

You need an openGL 2d driver for your video card/adapter.

ATI Mobility Radeon X300 w/ 64MB dedicated RAM

Good luck with that.. hopeful someone with similar h/w will come to the rescue.
