HELP!!!

Just installed ubuntu (10.10) about 5 days ago, it worked great!
Desktop effects worked fine.

THEN, I updated. Things went to sh*t. desktop effects aren't working. No 3D Cube, No Virtual Desktops, Nothing. When I go to Visual Effects and press Normal or Extra the screen flickers a few times then it says "Desktop effects could not be enabled" not even my screensaver works.
Its not my graphics/video card (it worked fine before)

please give quick and easy help.

It's -what a surprise ;-)- an issue with the video driver. Which one are you using? What video card/chip?

you could try reinstalling your Graphics card drivers again? That might work...

I FIXED IT!

I had to reinstall all the compiz stuff and install ubuntu tweak.

Glad to hear! It's apparently not always the video driver to blame in those cases, thanks for the feedback. Why Ubuntu Tweak?

I don't know what ubuntu tweak has to do with it but it works!

A+... Thanks for this... This effects stuff has been bugging the crap out of me for some time. I was running PardusLinux KDE and everything worked fine but when I switched back to Kubuntu (because German is too difficult to understand and get support for) so I knew my Intel card was fine. All I did was remove compiz at the KpackageKit and reinstall it.

again, THANKS!!!:D
