Hey Everyone
I can't seem to make my: startup screen, bios or boot splash display on external monitor. Once Ubuntu starts(login screen, gnome desktop, etc) then it displays on my external monitor. Is there a way to make my laptop output to external monitor from the start? My graphics card is:
Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller
If theres any other info I need to post please let me know.

I merged your two threads, please report the one you want to have removed.

I'm not really sure what you are asking, but on my netbook, I don't have any output on my external monitor until the login screen.

If the external's display comes up first, you can go to System->Preferences->Monitors, and adjust the settings there.

I don't even understand myself now. The issue I was having is now resolved. All I needed to do was use the fn + display buttons on my gateway m series laptop to toggle between external or built-in displays. I should have thought of that sooner. I apologize for the confusing post.
