I want to change the background color of the spelling assistant from black to white. See screen shot below. I've gone through just about every preference and changed all the defaults to something like pink or yellow just to see if I was changing it. But no luck... Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks! =)

I still have not corrected this problem. I hope someone else has run into it.

Are you using a custom/dark theme? I'm thinking eclipse pulls colors from the system gtk theme.

I am not using a custom theme at all. Fresh install of ubuntu 10.10 and grabbed eclipse from the download manager...

Hi, here is the way:

It was in Preferences > C/C++ > Editor > Source hover background, and had to untick the "System default" (because the shown color was light-gray!)

see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3571850/eclipse-change-popup-text-background-color-when-hovering-the-mouse-on-a-keyword

dunno why, this one doesn't work for me, but i manage to change the tooltip color in system->preference->appearance.
