Well I installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my new Dell XPS L501X and Everything worked fine, Ubuntu detected the required drivers for all the hardware in my laptop and was running them perfectly.... until I decided to install a new NVIDIA driver for the GPU... this caused Ubuntu to not detect the card at all on the next boot and boot in command line mode.

I had no ideas about command lines in Linux so I decided that since I had just installed the OS that I would reinstall it...

this time however, Ubuntu has not installed drivers for my wireless card, the dedicated NVIDIA GPU or the USB 3 controller. I have to connect to the internet using the Ethernet port and cannot load advanced desktop effects...

I have no idea why Ubuntu installed it one time but not the other....
