Now im not sure if im posting in the write section, but the reason im posting it here, is because the error happened after upgrading from 10.04 to 10.10.
Now I have a seperate partion which i use for backing up files etc, and storing files for when i upgrade to newer releases of ubuntu.
I copied everything over, but stupidly didnt check whether it had all copied over properly.
I then proceeded with installing 10.10.
When i got into 10.10, i checked my other partition, and could not find any of my files.
Problem is, is that when i right click on the hard disk, and go to properties, 20gb of hard disk space has been used - the correct amount for my documents back up.
I have tried looking at hidden files, looking as root, but i still cannot find where this 20gb of used space is coming from, and where my copied over files are! :(
Any help would be appreciated - thanks!
