I used synaptic to load pstricks. I have the doc, so I got necessary
environment variables set. However, when I try to run TeX, using
pstricks, I get some errors loading pstricks.tex. First, it tells
me that it inserted a missing 'endcsname'. I cannot find one missing,
even if I back up to pstricks97.tex. Then it gives me an error on
line 979 of pstricks.tex. Seems to have something to do with
@namedef entries; but I feel it may be a bit of a black hole trying
to track down the problem myself. In addition to the version of
pstricks that I installed with synaptic, I tried another version
that I ftp'd independently. Same issues. So it appears to be my
setup or my lack of understanding. Many thanks.
