hi all,

i'm trying installing ubuntu maverick meerkat 64bit on
my new notebook:

AMD Phenom™ II Quad Core Mobile Processor P920
preinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
ATI® Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 1GB DDR3 discrete memory
4GB DDR3 RAM
500GB HDD (5400rpm)
DVD-SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) with Labelflash™ drive

As, usual i intend to make it dual boot.
Problem is, after i selected to 'install' (or even just 'try ubuntu', or 'check cd for defects' or any other options), nothing happened, left me with a DOS-like black blank screen..

Though i mean to try installing the 32 bit version--
and when it fails, will try Lucid Lynx-- i'd highly prefer to be able to successfully install the newest 64bit Meerkat

thanks in advance
