Hey,
I have a Dell Inspiron n7010 laptop and I installed Ubuntu 10.10 yesterday. I've been using it heavily since then, and it has worked fine for the most part. However, I have always received this error but never had any problems associated with it.
I logged into Windows 7 today and then back into Ubuntu and got this error as usual. However, this time it showed me a scaled down purple splash screen and then moved on to a black terminal type screen asking me to login.
I log in with user/pass and it just gives me a terminal command prompt.
I realize the first part of this is an issue quite a few people are having, but they seem to be able to log in... I can't.
