0k have the netbook edition of Ubuntu with Unity installed on my...well..netbook and for the most part it is pretty cool, until I realized that it ate a bit of my screen space. Now, that Natty has been announced that Unity will be the default desktop, I am a little concerned. I have been messing with Alpha and have concluded that...well...I don't like it! To me, Unity still eats up room and has no auto hide feature as well as a clunky proceedure to add and subtract quick buttons. So, with that in mind, will there still be an ability to have Gnome? I have been toying with Kubuntu, but don't really like it. Don't care for Xubuntu either. So whats a Gnome user to do? :(

Use gnome.

If I recall correctly, although Unity will be the default if the hardware supports it, the fallback will be gnome, and in any event you will be able to choose which environment you want from the session menu.

Post your Natty queries to the Natty forum.

You will be able to choose the classic Gnome desktop from the login screen if you like.
