I want to install Ubunti 32-bit version on a PC running windows NT ;

I have downloaded the files and created a USB boot memory stick, which , as it happens just wont boot ( and yes i have set the system to boot first from the USB )
File manager can see all the files on the memory stick ...

I tried again with creating a DVD boot disk ... and the same story

Note, i have downloaded the files and created the boot USB and boot DVD using a windows vista machine ... not on the target installation platform

Ideally i would like to simply run an install exe file to get the installation running ... but i can find no .exe file on the USB or DVD

So what do i need to do to get ubuntu installed?

thx

Hi

Try creating the bootable USB using this under windows

http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

It will create a bootable USB. This is not the same as copying the iso file to the USB or DVD disc.

Set the first boot device as USB. Put the usb device in and reboot.

Kind regards
