Hello everyone,
This is my first time installing Ubuntu, and I'm having some problems, that I've seen others have.
I installed Ubuntu 10.10, but when I select it to boot from GRUB all I get is a black screen. There is no log-in screen or anything of that nature it goes straight from GRUB to black.
Here's what I have and what I've done:
-3 partitions: 2x NTFS (one with Win7), and 1 with Linux installation
-nVidia GeForce 450GTS
+I tried editing GRUB by replacing "quiet splash" with "nomodeset" to no effect
+Tried running from recovery with failsafeX. Here I've got an error message saying my graphics aren't set. Opening a low graphics sessions also put me in a black screen.
