Hi,

I bought this HP 2133 netbook for my mother about a year ago, it came pre-installed with a linux called SUSE which i found pretty difficult to do anything with really never mind my mother.

I downloaded the netbook remix 10.10 on the ubuntu website, followed instructions for putting iso onto a USB pen and changed boot order fine and insatlled it, everything looked like it was completed and installed but i got two error messages at the end. Since its not properly installed and SUSE wont load at all now i have written them down.

First one is:
"apt confirguration problem
an attempt to confirgure apt to install additional packages from the cd failed"
I should not that there is no cd as its a netbook and its been insatlled from USB.

Second error
Similar to the error in the first post of this thread here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1540900&highlight=Installer+Crashed but with no information or details whatsoever after "partman: "
and thats all i get, clicking close does nothing and i have to shut it down with the power button and now of course the old OS, SUSE isnt working at all either, just the HP screen and then a black screen with flashing cursor and thats it.

I have tried this 3 times now, all with the same result.

Any help would be appreciated, i reported a bug report like the message said as well.

Thanks

Please boot from the Ubuntu Live cd/usb and select "try ubuntu" then when the desktop is loaded make sure you have an internet connection and go to the site below and download the boot script to your DESKTOP and then open up a terminal (Applications > Accessories > terminal) and run

sudo bash ~/Desktop/boot_info_script*.sh

This will produce a results.txt file on your desktop. Please copy the contents of that file and paste them in your next post between CODE tags. For CODE tags click on New Reply (not quick reply)and then click on the # symbol in the toolbar.
This will give a full overview of your current system.
Thanks.

I m having some problems with wireless firmware now but following steps on the documentation to hopefully sort that out.

I re-downloaded the UNR and put it on USB drive again and i noticed during insatllation it came up with a dialog saying "cannot delete output file E:\ubuntu" and then carries on saying its completed successfully, i remember this happening the first time to, could this be the problem?

Will reply again when i get this wifi working and get that text file.

Update: I saw someone advise to try the USB pen and insatll on another seperate PC, (my bros desktop), and that failed with the exact same errors as well.....

So that would mean its the usb or the iso?
I downloaded from the ubuntu site from the guide, two seperate times and the third time i got the usb installer to download it.

All times i received the error during mounting the ISO showing "unable to delte output file E:\ubuntu"

Its a 16gig sandisk cruzer.

Any ideas?
