Best I can suggest is to use Calibre and convert the PDF :/

Most e-readers should accept .pdf files without issue. I've converted some .pdf files to .epub for my nook, and find the .pdf is better, especially if there are non-western fonts involved. The .pdf will display everything fine, but the conversion tries to replicate the text with its own fonts, which doesn't always work well.

Reading pdf's on a kindle is not that great; I'll see if calibre produces a useful mobi file

I have found that converting the PDF to epub and then epub to mobi the best quality. Good luck on this.
