View Full Version : [ubuntu] Runaway scrollbar sliders

This "feature" of Ubuntu desktop environment I cannot get used to: when I accidentally click on a scrollbar instead of the slider itself, the slider starts to move in that direction, fine, but does not stop at the point where I clicked!

It keeps on moving until I release the left button, or it reaches the end of the scrollbar...

It has happened several times that I only wanted to increase volume just a bit, but when I finally realised my click was a bit off the slider, the volume was already maxed out ](*,)

And this is not even consistent!
For example Firefox behaves as it should: movement of the slider stops at the clicking point...

I tried to search on this problem, but did not even find a description like this, not to mention the solution.

Could somebody please help me find a way to change this rude behaviour?
Even a hint where to find the reason would help
(I don't even know if it's a Gnome issue, or might exists even in KDE)
