I just did a clean install of 10.04 LTS made the mistake of not taking note of what changes I'd made to my old firefox to make it actually readable, now I'm pretty sure I am destined to go blind. I tried a couple of different addons, neither of which were actually helpful. is there an addon that will allow you to change the context font size and make the changes persistent?

Also, do any of you happen to know if its still possible to switch yahoo to classic? I use it for my homepage and that little strip of text down the middle of the page is about the most annoying thing I can imagine. I noticed there are other pages like that, too. My monitor resolution is 1024x768 and I really need to use the whole screen. I can barely see.

thanks in advance

wow, i understand why you are lost dude :(

Look at your location: " the other side of nowhere"

but maybe you can make some tweaks if you select from firefox menu: Edit - Prefs - Content

and change what you need about "fonts & colors"

yes i know its lot of work but you know you cant get pleasure without pain :)

You should create a separate partition for your /home so when you do clean installs you don't need to reconfigure anything.

You can use Stylish (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108/), but you need to download and install (http://userstyles.org/stylish/) a script for what you need or write your own script.

Also see http://www.mozilla.org/unix/customizing.html

Use Remove It Permanently (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/521/) extension to remove stuff you don't like from web pages.

Thanks so much for the replies. I'd forgotten all about making a separate home partition! The other thing I forgot after a Long day fiddling with the reformat (ahem) - to fix the resolution on the display.

In the end, I had to go back to the previous version I had. My computer could barely run 10.04 LTS - even after shutting down Ubuntu One and a few other tweaks it was so slow and jerky and it kept freezing up. I was looking forward to a shiny new distro but I think 10.04 passed up my machine's capabilities.
