Well. .. I remember Ubuntu updating a lot more frequently before in the previous releases and now it seems like it rarely updates. I know that infrequent updates are a good thing but I have come to like them. It makes me feel like my computer is getting a little better every day. On a more specific note.. Virtual box in repo is version 3.0 or something and the one that I manually installed from the site was 4.0 or something. I know ubuntu likes to do extensive testing before it releases the software into the repo channels but is there one that does less testing and gets the software out to the end user faster?

You might be happier with debian testing if you're wanting to play like this.

Blogs , including Web upd8 and OMG Ubuntu often post new software and ppa instructions . Use at your own risk , ppas sometimes don't play nicely with each other.

You can use Ubuntu Tweak (http://ubuntu-tweak.com/) and/or getdeb (http://www.getdeb.net/)

If you like bleeding edge, why not test Ubuntu 11.04 Alpha and help make the next Ubuntu release better?
