Hi.

I recently installed ubuntu 10.10 on my Acer Aspire laptop 5745G-7671 laptop. It has an Nvidia Geforce gt 420m dedicated card, and an Intel HD integrated GPU.

The problem is, I recenly installed a driver for it (because ubuntu had already found a driver in hardware management). After I did that, everytime I try to start ubuntu, I can no longer see any GUI interface.

I have tried everything. I tried restarting X (which doesn't seem to work in Ubuntu 10.10, and tried holding CTRL+ALT+F7 too, but it just displays a few "[ OK ]" messages. What happened? Can anyone help?

Sorry, I haven't used ubuntu in so long, its been far too long to remember how to fix this problem. Thanks~

Delete the xorg.conf file and reboot. it should be regenerated again
