10.10 Microsoft Office (wine) msxhml help

I am fairly new to using Ubuntu 10.10 or anyother versions of Ubuntu so bare with me.

I recently downloaded Microsoft Office 2010 and opened it with Wine (read it was the best and easiest to use) after a few seconds I get an error message asking me to install msxml 6.10.1129.0, So I did some further research and found a bunch of links for download but from experience I did not attempt any as I know my PC can get infected.

If you guys can help me on how to get Office on my PC that would be great :)

Hi,

I ran into the same issue and through some looking around I found that Office 2010 isn't supported yet in Wine.

I was able to get Office 2007 working on a different computer. I'm going to give it a shot today and I'll post again with any progress/issues.

Found a nice tutorial that may be of interest if you attempt to install Office 2007. I made a new thread with a few comments. Hope this helps.
