can't install 10.10 on asus eee pc 900

when i select try from the usb drive everything works fine, but when i select install it never goes further than the "preparing to install ubuntu-netbook" page all options (available space, power, and internet are all checked. it will stay on this page all day and i don't see any hard drive or usb drive activity. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I installed 10.10 on my eee pc 900 and had a somewhat similar problem. If md5sum gives the right hash, try using a different USB loader.....I used a different one than ubuntu recommeneded on thier website, but it worked like a champ. Now, if only I can get my internet to stop crashing every 30 seconds. I saw on an eeepc wiki that a script exists to fix known eeepc 900 issues after installing Ubuntu 8.04. Is there a script for 10.10? hum?
