Hello,

I have just discovered the book, "Beginning Ubuntu Linux: From Novice to Professional" (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1590596277/ref=sr_11_1/103-6993658-0168600?%5Fencoding=UTF8) that seems not bad at all (at least for beginnier :)).

Did someone buy the book and could advice if it is good or not?

Thank you :).

Best wishes,
Michael

I was thinking that it was the only book on Ubuntu, but I was wrong. It is probably the first book available, but soon other books will appear (in 2-4 months).

The official Ubuntu book will appear soon (August 2006):

This will appear in July 2006:

And this one in June 2006:

The problem is, because of our 6 month release cycle, often times, these books are outdated by the time they get published, these books are probably written with Breezy, and maybe even Hoary in mind.

Yes, this could be a problem if someone wishes the most updated info on the latest release.

Anyway, I think that if they contains general info which work more or less on Breezy and Dapper, then they could be useful especially for a beginner :). Moreover, they seems to be not too much expensive :).

Best wishes,
Michael
