Okay, found a torrent I've been looking for for months today, and I've begun to extract it with transmission. The only thing is though, it seems like transmission hardly ever actually works, so is there another program I can use to extract .torrent files?

ktorrent is a great bittorrent client.
deluge is a good one too.
both should be in the repos

Neither of those worked either.

Perhaps start with stating what the problem is.

If none work, maybe there are no seeders or a problem with your network.

To the OP:
- Transmission should do just as fine as any of the other mentioned clients.
- Your problem, more than likely, isn't related to the client you use (that's clear from the beginning, and I wonder why people is so eager of recommending his favourite client).
- You should give a bit more of info & background if you want to get useful answers.
- So: Other torrents do work for you in transmission? Have you used torrents before? ... we can't guess how much aware you are!
