I use internet modem and they give a software to install so that we can connect internet..
Actually i'm able to connect it without that but i get extra options like sending messages. etc.
They also provided a linux version of that software.. but i don't know how to install it.
please explain ?

Actually, I'm using an Internet modem.. they have given both Linux version & Window's..
can you tell me how to install the Linux version.. as i'm new to ubuntu and installing a software is very different from windows..

Actually the modem is preinstalled with a software in it, so we can directly install software from modem..
In that usb modem there is a Linux folder, i think from here i need to do the installation work...
in the linux folder.. these are the following files (data.bin, datacard_verify, install, mobilepartner.tar.gz, readme.txt, sysconf.dat).. in this install file is opening in gedit .. (i think its text file)..
In the readme file i opened it and they have given some instructions ..
these are the words, but i don't know how to do ..

"*You need login as root*
1. Run "install" in TERMINAL to install MobilePartner
eg: # bash /<path>/install ". .. but i don't know what to do..
