I installed wubi along side Windows 7 on a laptop Dell Inspiron Studio (64-bit). Current Ubuntu installation is 10.04 LTS, according to "About Ubuntu" menu option, with kernel 2.6.32.27. When I attempted to run the upgrade manager and was prompted to reboot in order to complete the upgrade, Ubuntu could not reboot after the selection of "Ubuntu" in the dual boot menu. A system error message appeared, something like "could not find file something-something".

Any idea what is going wrong? I suspect that this happens when a new kernel version is involved in the upgrade.

Have you tried rebooting manually?

I upgraded yesterday with no problems, not that that means anything for you.

Check here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1639198&highlight=wubi+megathread) first!

Rubi1200, bcbc and drs305 have done some nice work providing some solutions for those who experience problem(s) with wubi.
