ubuntu 10.10 wont recognize my cl-ati9200 graphic card

and idea how to fix first time trying to put in a new graphics card

have an installation disk . but it has nothing for a linux install.

Have you tried goning into system/administration/hardwaredrivers? It should find what you need. You could also try the software centre in the "system" section to find drivers

note computer boots up and cant get past x. no additions drivers avail from adm/additional drivers

ATI 9200s dotn have any ATI drivers that work with 10.10. You can only use teh open source drivers, they should be installed by default.

Cant get to 'x' at all?

cas no. to get it to work i had to download drivers from man website. then reinstall ubuntu. working great now.
