Hi there. Complete newbie here, looking for assistance.
Objective: install ubuntu server 10.10 onto my supermicro server that is currently running a version of CentOS
Server Specs: Supermicro case, Dual Intel Xeon Processors, Supermicro MB, DVD drive, USB support
Problem: I've burned a cd(@ 10x speed) and even a dvd(@ 8x speed) with the Disk Utility option on my iMac. After inserting the disc into the disc drive of the server and restarting I get a mostly blank screen with the following displayed at the top:
"ISOLINUX 4.01 debian-20100714 ETCD Copyright (c) 1994-2010 H. Peter Anvin et al"
I've tried waiting for a while, but nothing. No response from keyboard input. I have to manually restart the server if I want to do anything. I've also tried booting from a USB, but no results.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
