Hello!

I'll start by saying I'm almost a complete greenhorn with ubuntu. I installed it on an ancient desktop a while ago, but have done little with it.

I want to install the latest version on my motion computing m1400 tablet pc. It has a digital pen type screen (I forget the correct term), and side buttons for rotation and such. I'm guessing those might cause issues.

Upon searching I found a nice big thread about ubuntu installation on an HP tablet, but much of it was far above my head, and I guessed the procedure would be different.

Essentially I would like to know:
a: If I can start by installing ubuntu normally, from a cd. If not, how?
b: What I will have to/should do to get the tablet functions, buttons, wireless etc working, after or during the installation
c: anything else you think I should know, or would be helpful

I'm a fairly advanced computer user, can't really "code" or "hack", but can follow step by step instructions very well! :D

Thanks so very much, I hope I've given enough information and been descriptive enough, without being a pain in the ****.

Thanks, and please respond.
Stefan
EDIT:
here's a link to the other tablet thread I found

also, I found this:

Is this applicable?
