View Full Version : Ever re-discovered a movie or TV series you loved as a kid?

There was a thing on Facebook a little while back where people changed their profile pictures to their favorite cartoon show as a kid.

My choice was SWAT Kats (watch intro (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_AdxJWFUh4)). I still think of it as such a badass show. Two cats fly an awesome jet and use high-tech weapons to destroy a giant monster every week. Like a cross between Top Gun and Godzilla.

Then I started thinking of movies. Back when I was a kid, I saw a comedy about people attend a driving school to get their driver's licenses. I thought that movie was hilarious. There was a scene where an old lady says, "Why is my back wet?" that had me rolling! Years later, I still think of that as one of the funniest moments I've ever seen.

But I can't for the life of me remember the name of that movie! It was on cable TV late one night, and I never saw it again. If anyone knows what it's called, I'd appreciate it.

That was a great show. Alanis Morissette was on that show as a child. Wasn't the cook's name Barth?

For some reason Ubuntu Forums duplicated my post -- so disregard this one.

Also while trying to scrub this duplicate entry I got this error:

Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request POST /editpost.php.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Apache/2.2.8 (Ubuntu) Server at ubuntuforums.org Port 80

I wonder if UF is having problems.

I think it is, there seems to be a lot of double posts today.

+1 for Manimal, original V, and Greatest American Hero.

I thought Manimal was awesome in the day, but it definitely didn't age well. Have you seen it recently? It's very bad.

Airwolf was awesome, too. The Rockford Files was a great show that will always be great.

Does anyone remember The Equalizer, and The Master?

THAT'S IT! Many thanks, dmizer. I just checked by watching the trailer on YouTube (Moving Violations Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKU85IV0_Bw)). From the looks of things, the movie only had a limited run on DVD. The prices on Amazon.com and Ebay are insanely expensive. Must be a real collector's item now.

Luckily, a user named TrafficCriminal (http://www.youtube.com/user/TrafficCriminal) uploaded the whole Moving Violations movie to Youtube.

i ran into a few of them and thought, "wow i actually liked this?"

Ha ha! I felt like that when I watched The Flash (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eea2wUO4z28) TV series on DVD a few years back. Totally appalled at how cheesy it was, but still fun. I used to stay up late for that show as a kid.

MacGyver (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HaQvBbzslJE), on the other hand, will always be cool.

Glad so many of you included YouTube links to the intro sequences of those shows. Good idea!

I remember watching.
Airwolf
The A Team
The Dukes of Hazzard

My 8 year old son has recently discovered reruns of The Dukes of Hazzard.
He is as in to it now as I was way back then when I was 8.

A lot of those old programs are available to watch on Hulu.com

That is your fault for using facebook.

However, I watched "Battle of the Planets" a while a go. I was upset that it was garbage.

For that reason, I refuse to watch Tom Sawyer/Hucklberry Finn

I loved those.
