View Full Version : Partition size wonky

I have a 160 GB hard drive, using roughly 17 GB for Ubuntu and the rest for music and photo storage on a separate partition. Ubuntu names the partition "142 GB Filesystem," says it contains around 123 GB of files, uses 130 GB (? what is the difference/how can there be a difference?) and has about 1 GB of free space. Below it again gives a total capacity, this time of 131 GB. Obviously, some of this has to be wrong. I even enlarged the partition when I reinstalled maverick. I used to have 134 GB of space on the disk, but after enlarging the size went down?

It is very strange. Does anyone have an idea how to fix it?
