how can i remove the pannel which is left side to the desktop in ubuntu 10.10 .....thx in advance bro

you dont. its part of the unity desktop. now if your sick of seeing it, then change your settings so it doesnt autmatically log you in, this way you can select Ubuntu Desktop at the log in screen and get the GNOME desktop instead of unity. I preffer gnome myself as unity tends to be a bit laggy.
