View Full Version : [xubuntu] INstallation weirdness - no root, no languages, no wifi

I'm installing 10.10 on an eeePC which had 8.xx on it. I installed 10.10, and it went well, except...

There's no root user. Never did I get an opportunity to set an admin user. The one user I was asked to create does not have sudo privileges.

There's no way to install additional languages during the install. I need 3 - English, Czech, Japanese. It's the Japanese that concerns me; the input system is always a huge PITA to install afterward. Can't install without a root user....

Lastly, NM can't connect to any of my APs. I'll take that up on the wifi forum - but it's hard to fix without a root user....

I reinstalled and everything works... Very strange.
