View Full Version : [ubuntu] Hard Drive messed up after installing ubuntu 10.10

I installed Ubuntu 10.10 onto my laptop and got a new plug and play device that wasnt being read so I went to go and install windows onto my laptop and when I get to the screen to select my partition it says its unreadable or its not detected but when I restart it it works fine in loading ubuntu PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Search the forums for advice about reinstalling windows - I guess your XP cannot see any file system other than FAT32 or NTFS - you will probably have to use something like GParted to reformat your HD before you can install M$.

On the other hand, you could try sticking with Ubuntu for a while and ask for some help with your PnP device?

Your hard disk is not "messed up". Windows can not read Linux partitions.

I see you have only 1 post in this forum. Did it ever occur to you to start a thread asking for help with your problem? There are a lot of people willing to help, but you must first ask. I don't think you have given linux a fair or honest shot, however it is your decision.
