Running the latest 10.10 fully patched with nvidia drivers. Under Appearance, I've got the advanced effects chosen and everything looks great if I boot and log into my profile immediately, HOWEVER...

If I then create a brand-new user account with a new profile, then log out as me and in as the new user, then the menubar doesn't show ambiance but the "default" gnome grey menubar with blue highlights and the horrible icons.

Then if I log out again and in as me, the window borders are ambiance, but the icons and menubar are now gnome "default". Aaaargh!

Looks like the default profile for new users is screwed. So how do I fix it? And where is the menu appearance stored? And why doesn't it use the same appearance as the panel on which the menu is located?
