Bit stumped by this after searching around or maybe I'm just being thick. I installed a minimal KDE desktop on top of an originally LXDE/XFCE system. Today when I was setting up a panel in KDE and dragging it to the left side of the screen the desktop became unresponsive, lots of disk activity and then blacked out. So I manually logout and now get a crash on login.

Xfce and Lxde still log in fine and I can still log into KDE with my other user so I figured a config file in the home directory was the problem. I deleted the .kde directory but still crashed. I could see the default KDE splash screen which I normally turn off so I know some things have been reset.

Next I deleted the user and home folder but still crash after recreating the user. So what am I doing wrong here? Are there other config files I need to get rid of to get back to a default session for this user?
