Are you trying to install 9.10? End of life April 2011
Are you doing it in a admin account?

Later, I installed Ubuntu on same drive where Windows is located and problem solved. Ubuntu 9.10 will end at April 2011?

Support for 9.10 will end in April. No more system updates and you won't be able to install new software after then. But you will be able to upgrade to the LTS (long-term support) 10.04 version which will be supported (desktop version) until April 2013.
