Hello,

According to the official upgrade notes (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LucidUpgrades#Upgrade%20from%208.04%20LTS%20to%201 0.04%20LTS) I have to use the Update Manager to upgrade 8.04 to 10.04.

I followed the steps and everything's working okay (currently waiting for all the packages to download) - so my question is this: I happen to have the 10.04 iso on a cd, and I really don't want to wait for 5 hours for the packages to download through the Update Manager upgrade, so is there any way to upgrade through the cd? Or is the cd iso only good for a clean install?

Thanks.

As you can see on link you provided it is possible to upgrade via CD,but it must be alternate CD.Download speed depends on your connection and I donīt think you will get CD faster ( except if you download it from somewhere with faster download speed).Because you already started upgrade it will not be smart to stop it.That can cause problems or need to reinstall.Be patient!
