I went to backup some files today on a +R disk and had 2 failures. K3 thought the disk was a blank +RW and started to preformat it. Outside of K3 Nautilus also lists it as a blank +RW so it's something in the kernel. I tried reinstalling what base DVD files were installed but that didn't fix it. Drive is a SATA Sony DRU865S which seems to have limited support in Ubuntu as it also doesn't read DVD data disks nor will it write DL disks but I have always been able to burn +R data disks and read them on a USB DVD drive on the same system. The last time I used the drive was 2-3 weeks ago. Is anyone else having issues with SATA DVD drives or is mine going south. I'd swap drives from my other box but there are no ATA connections on this motherboard.
