View Full Version : [ubuntu] Attack: Stop continuous page refreshing

I have been fiddling around with mod_evasive to help detect and halt simple server attacks by people just holding down the F5 or page refresh key. Unsuccessful so far. What suggestions can you recommend to stop these simple attacks?

I don't think you're being attacked at all. Are they saturating your connection? How much bandwidth do you have. I'm sure Appache can handle someone holding down the F5 key without problems. I get 13,000 page hits a day on one of my sites with no issues and I only have 1mb up speed with no problems.

No, I am not being attacked. But, I was the one holding down the F5 key and watching my i7 max out. I have plenty of bandwidth 22MB/5MB. Seems like a bit of tweaking is in order.
