View Full Version : [ubuntu] DMS/Calendaring - sharepoint alternative

I've just started to rebuild my home server with Ubuntu Server 10.10 32-bit (CPU limitation).

I am looking for something that will let me upload my documents and keep track of different versions - preferrably from a web interface (unless versioning can be done at the share level - I am using samba 4 from the maverick repo).

I am also looking for calendaring so that my family can have a common calendar - I plan to tap this into a WinMo and BB (on BES) handset over WiFi.

I just need someone to point me in the right direction in terms of apps.

I am running this on an ASUS 1000HE ... will this be able to run on such a platform?

Why would you think it wouldn't?

Howdy,

This combo will do it very easily:
http://citadel.org
http://bitnami.org/stack/knowledgetree

Citadel installs in about 20 minutes using the Easy Install script and does absolutely everything including file storage, but KnowledgeTree is best for document storage and control.

Herman's solution would be another good solution in my opinion. You could try both and see which one you like best.
