Do I Need to Extract?

I've installed Ubuntu from a flash-drive before (explaining how I have it now), but I forgot one small thing. Before I drag the Ubuntu 10.10 file to my USB, do I need to extract the files into a file first? Or do I just drag and drop the saved installation file?

If it's file extension is .iso then drag and drop.
